How is Robin going to realize his plan?
This is the most important part:
Imagine a website with a castle and a forest (Nottingwood Castle* and Nottingwood Forest*). At the bottom of the site there is a map of the world, Nottingworld*.
Nottingwood Castle:
Placed on the castle are different towers, each with its own kind of rich and famous. One tower with musical artists, one with movie stars, one with sports celebrities, one with captains of industry etc.
Every rich person is a Queen or King of the castle (gender depending).
The purpose is, that they have all donated a lot of money.
The donation can be done in three different ways.
- There can be donated money, spend on Projects* by choice of the Queen or King;
- There can be donated money, spend on Projects by choice of their fans;
- There can be donated money, spend on Projects by choice of all inhabitants of Nottingwood Forest*.
Somewhere in the castle live the fans of the Queen or King of their choice. They are calledKnights and Maidens of Nottingwood Castle (again, depending their gender).
By donating money (at least € 25,--), Maidens (or Knights) support their Queen (or King). The contribution lasts for a year.
Maidens and Knights follow their Queen/King in her/his decision to allocate the money or even may decide which Project their celebrities ought to spend their money on.
Each Knight or Maiden gets a room in Nottingwood Castle, is linked with the celebrity and, if applicable, with the Project.
Nottingwood Castle is intended as a platform. Here, fans are not only able to be in contact with like-minded fans, but also to be informed of all projects that will be implemented in the world.
Under every 5,000 donors of Nottingwood Castle, Nottingwood will raffle a "meet and greet" with the celebrity of choice!
The most generous and loyal fans will finally be rewarded with extras in the context of their idol.
Celebrities can be nominated as well. This requires the Knight or Maiden to make a donation and nominate a celebrity. At the time that at least 99 others support the nomination, Nottingwood will do everything possible to get the celebrity on the battlements of the castle as King or Queen.
A celebrity remains King or Queen of Nottingwood Castle as long as he or she is still supported by at least another 100 Knights and Maidens at the end of the calendar year following the coronation.
If a nominated celebrity doesn’t get enough support within six months (100 fans), donators will be asked to choose an alternative celebrity for their donation or become inhabitant of Nottingwood Forest and choose a Project.
* Governor of Nottingwood
There can be appointed Governors of Nottingwood. They will be challenged to find Kings and Queens at a – for each visible -commission.
Governors will enter into a contract with Nottingwood and be appointed as such. For every celebrity the governor will find, he will receive a 5% commission of the amount donated by the celebrity with a maximum of € 10 000, -.
The celebrity found must be willing to pay an amount of at least € 100,000, -. The celebrity should enjoy national or international acclaim.
A celebrity first has to be nominated by the Governor. Nottingwood has the right to refuse a nomination. If Nottingwood accepts the nomination, she crowns the celebrity and she places him or her on the battlements of Nottingwood.
The celebrity should be able to take note of the fact that the governor receives commission.
To offset the costs to the Governor, Nottingwood Administration * will limit its overhead to 5% so that the total costs never exceed the guaranteed 10% (see hereafter). After all, in case of a Governor, Nottingwood shall be spared the cost of the search for a celebrity.
*Nottingwood Forest:
Besides Nottingwood Castle there lays Nottingwood Forest. Nottingwood Forest is inhabited by people that aren’t really into supporting celebrities but still would like to make a contribution against poverty in certain parts of the world.
There are two kind of inhabitants:
- People of Nottingwood Forest that have donated money on a Project of their choice and therefore rent a cabin for the duration of the Project. Somewhere in the Forest, their names are mentioned as well as the Project they support.
- Lords and Ladies of Nottingwood Forest. They occupy a house because they’ve donated at least an amount of € 1.000,--. Their names are mentioned at the Project and more prominent in the Forest. The rent of the house is again during the term of the Project.
All residents of Nottingwood Forest get a link to the supported project and to the responsible Sheriff of Nottingwood*.
Lords and Ladies will get the possibility to communicate directly with the Participant when he is willing- and capable to do so.
The Forest is intended as a platform for like-minded people to exchange all of what their residents want to share. The Forest serves as a social site between the residents and the projects.
One can also make a suggestion for funding a project. When someone donates, he may nominate a project. He or she should seek support among family, friends and colleagues. Once at least 49 people have supported the nomination, Nottingwood will take up the project within Nottingworld.
Site visitors will have the opportunity to request information about the nominated Project so they can make a support donation if the Project appeals to them.
If a nominated Project doesn’t get enough support within six months (50 donators or at least 30% of the amount needed with a minimum of € 2.500,--), support donators will be asked to give an alternative Project for their donation.
When the nominated Project meets the requirements, Nottingwood takes the initiative to make it a Project which will be put on the site for further financial support. If the project is not located within the territory of a Sheriff, Nottingwood will look for a Sheriff who takes the responsibility of the project.
Under every 5,000 donors of Nottingwood Forest, a trip to the destination of the project at choice will be raffled.
The map of the world and the Projects, Nottingworld:
The map of the world shows every Project on the world. The Projects that still need funding are green, the fully funded ones are red.
The maximum amount of a loan for a Project is around € 15000. The money will be loaned without interest. The first year of the loan is free from pay back. After the first year, the loan must be repaid in a maximum of 4 years.
The Project can’t be for an individual purpose. It has to (indirectly) benefit the local community of the Participant.
The site will provide every Project with detailed information about the Project and the one that will be favored, the Participant. There will be an extensive report on the Project (with pictures and – if possible – videos), the needed amount and a calculated and substantiated budget. Further, there will be the details of the responsible Sheriff of Nottingwood.
Projects that still need funding, are green. Donate an amount (at least € 25) and select a project. After at least 60% of the budget, required for a project of your choice, will be paid for by the donations of the people of Nottingwood, the Nottingwood Administration will fulfill the remainder of the needed sum, as long as there are adequate resources within Nottingwood available.
Once a project is fully funded, the project is colored red on the site. Red projects are evaluated at least every six months by updating all possible financial and material data. During the term of the project, residents of Nottingwood can communicate about it through the Nottingwood Administration on the site and leave a response. In a later stage, a system of evaluation will be designed.
At Projects where the Participant is capable of electronic communications and willing to communicate as such, Lords and Ladies of Nottingwood Forest (> €1.000,--) will also be able to communicate directly and to give aid or advice.
All refunds by the Participant will be made to the Nottingwood Bank *. The Nottingwood Bank will hold all amounts received, available to the Nottingwood Administration for further financing the Projects (except the compensation for the Sheriff of Nottingwood . In theory, this means that from every donation, over a period of 15 years, approximately 240% is available for projects!
? The nominated Projects will be listed in Nottingworld. This kind of projects will have a brief description and the amount donated. If someone is interested, after donation one can obtain information about the Project. After having received the information, the donor can indicate whether the donation should be spend on the nominated Project or an alternative Project.
*The Sheriff of Nottingwood
Within a certain regional territory, the Sheriff of Nottingwood is responsible for the pay back by the Participants for their loans. He or she will get a return provision per year of 10% for each payment.
In case the Participant is without means of internet or even can’t write, the Sheriff is responsible for all the details of the Project.
Probably they’ll be local authorities with the possibilities of internet, communicating, recording and financial analyzes.
The Nottingwood Administration is responsible for the appointment of Sheriffs.
There will be a rating system. Serious complaints about a Sheriff, either by the inhabitants of Nottingwood or by the Participant, can lead to dismissal of a Sheriff.
*The Nottingwood Administration:
The Nottingwood Administration is the heart of Nottingwood. They administrate everything that’s going on. At the administration you can have a look at all administrative details of Nottingwood.
The Administration is responsible for acquiring the funds of Queens and Kings, recruiting Sheriffs and finding suitable Projects all over the world.
For finding Projects, all inhabitants of Nottingwood can make suggestions to the Administration. Within reason suggestions are taken into account and can be investigated for their use.
Further, it is responsible for keeping the webpages, and everything related, updated on a daily basis. It takes care of all Project data, uploaded by Sheriffs.
Later on, the site will contain a management database for Sheriffs.
The Administration charges 10% overhead costs for all funded money. It will arrange its costs in such a way that there will be a well-balanced outcome.
Overhead will be spend on travel costs, website costs, administrative and fiscal costs, publicity costs, advertising etc. The website should be as international- and on an even large scale as YouTube or Facebook.
Of course, the Administration will be supervised and controlled by professionals. As wished, even by professionals at choice of Kings and Queens.
Nottingwood guarantees that it will always meet the legal and financial requirements imposed on institutions that support charities, called "ANBI" foundations.
Furthermore Nottingwood guarantees that it will treat all information confidentially and will use it exclusively for the purposes specified in its statutes. There will be no other data on the site of Nottingwood then the data as provided by the donor himself in benefit of the site
Nottingwood is a foundation under Dutch law, established in Rotterdam.
*The Nottingwood Bank:
The Nottingwood Bank will be a safe, unhackable and transparent place for everyone to donate their money to.
All repayments by the Participant will be to the Nottingwood Bank. Except for the 10% commission for the Sheriff, the Nottingwood Bank will held all amounts available to the Nottingwood Administration for further funding of projects.
As far as the rules of safety and privacy will allow and within the potential restrictions set by funders, all donations with its details and the financial records will be kept visible to everyone in Nottingwood. Transparency is of the most importance.
Nottingwood is called an “ANBI” Foundation. This means that your donation is deductible for your tax return to the IRS.
